Bad Bobs?
One of the most talked about men’s haircuts of recent times has to be Javier Bardem’s bob in the recent Oscar winner, No Country for Old Men. Now, not all of the press has been exactly positive about what is, in polite terms, a unique haircut ( Baddie hair days: the haircut that grew and grew - Features, Film & TV - Independent.co.uk). But there’s something about the amount of conversation it has inspired that I think points to an emerging trend. It is not only film baddies who are sporting sizable thatches these days. Many musicians are also sporting the longer bob such as Faris Badwan from The Horrors and the lead singer of The Hives. It is a very versatile look which can be jazzed up with the use of wax or gel or sleeked back. I have to say, it is exceedingly rare for a client to come to AHS and ask for such a haircut, although we could do it if they wanted. What is true for everyone is that hair adds a sense of youth and style, fun and personality. If your hair is thinning it may be tempting to shave it off but in many cases this leaves men looking very harsh, older and feeling less confident. Advanced Hair Studio can help almost all sufferers if balding. We offer a variety of treatment varying from strand by strand to laser therapy which can leave men feeling and looking great. So say goodbye to the grade zero and say hello to a stylish head of hair and if you want, you can have one that will be the talk of the town!
Female hair loss
It's hard enough for a man to lose his hair, but at least it is socially acceptable. For a woman, hair loss is a much more difficult experience. Confusion, fear, and anxiety can set in, and a feeling of helplessness can abound. Yet the problem is widespread. Almost one in five women has suffered or is suffering from hair loss. Sufferers lose more than double or treble the amount of hair that falls out naturally every day. There are a number of causes for female hair loss varying from male pattern baldness to women who suffer from post-natal hair loss. It can be traumatic and the psychological damage should not be underestimated. For many women, hair is used to express femininity and the loss of it can be embarrassing and distressing. However, women need not suffer in silence. Hair replacement and restoration treatments can make a real difference. They can achieve dramatic improvement in hair coverage. Our treatments make you look great and, by boosting confidence, make you feel great too. Here at Advanced Hair Studio, we are always happy to offer sympathetic consultations to women who are worried about hair loss. Labels: female hair loss, Hair loss
Spring 2008 - The return of the bob and the next upcoming hair trends
As one of the most photographed women in the world, it is no surprise that Victoria Beckham aka Posh is in the fashion headlines again this spring. Posh has ditched her long locks for a sleek and funky bob. The posh bob or as fashionistas have affectionately dubbed it ‘The Pob’, is set to be this season’s must have cut. Celebrities such as Katie Holmes have joined suit, ditching their tresses for the short crop. The classic cut has been given a modish twist which makes it a versatile and easy to manage style. Furthermore, you can have a different variation to flatter your face shape, making it a surprisingly wearable cut. Spring is also a great time to give your hair a colour injection. AHS Flashpoints can add highlights and warmth in up to three tones. The results are fantastic! As the summer days get longer, so will the hair styles. Longer, choppy hair with plenty of body is set to be a big hit. Watch this space!
Crowning glory
You may not think that Prince William and I have much in common, but in fact we both share a love of polo. I was at a match recently with an old friend of mine and we got talking about the royal family. Last month the Queen and Prince Philip celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a service at Westminster Abbey. It was a great example of British tradition, with all the great and the good present. There was also a reading from Prince William and I noticed that he was suffering from a thinning crown. It is particularly distressing to lose one’s hair especially at such a young age and especially when you are in the public eye. But he needn’t suffer in silence. We could return William’s thinning hair to a crop fit for a king. I think the results speak for themselves. It just goes to show that hair replacement treatment is a subtle and effective way to look and feel great.
Winners need hair!
After England’s defeat against Croatia last Wednesday, Steve McClaren faced a lot of criticism resulting in his dismissal. There has been plenty of speculation about McClaren’s management style, but here at AHS we have got our own ideas about McClaren’s problem. Since McClaren took on the role as England manager, his hair receded as dramatically as England’s qualification chances. By contrast the managers of Germany, Holland and Italy, Joachim Loew, Marco Van Basten and Roberto Donadoni, who all have a fine head of hair, comfortably steered their teams to the European Championship. Here at AHS we wondered if there is a link between receding hairlines and a team’s performance. Perhaps, a fuller hair of head is exactly what Steve McClaren needed. We decided to have a bit of fun and give McClaren a Shane Warne make over and look at the results! Warnie went from strength to strength after he got the AHS treatment. It’s a winning style. If McClaren wants to see us, we’ll give him the strength of Samson, ensuring he can bounce back to winning ways.
Welcome to the AHS blog
I’m Carl Howell, chairman of Advanced Hair Studio. Hair loss can be traumatic and let’s face it for many men it seems unavoidable. It can trigger a number of emotions, from insecurity to lack of self-confidence. But it needn’t. Hair replacement and restoration treatment not only gives tangible results but also helps boost confidence making you look and feel great. I’ve been in the hair industry for over 30 years and it is something that I feel passionately about. Your hair can really make a statement and is something that you can have fun with too. In Australia, as polling approaches, general election fever has taken over Advanced Hair Studio. We have asked voters to give John Howard and Kevin Rudd an election makeover and take a look at the transformation! Over the forthcoming months, I will be putting to rest some of those hair myths, offering advice on hair treatments and sharing my thoughts on hair trends for the coming year. In the meantime, if you think we could help you, give the AHS team a call and say goodbye to bad hair days for good.
